指不搭任何布景，在事先决定的真实景物中进行影片的拍摄工作。一般现实题材的影片,适于采取实景（或在实景基础上稍作人工修饰）拍摄，可使影片中出现的场面富有真实感和时代气息。从制片管理角度看，实景拍摄，不必搭置布景，可以节约制片成本，加快摄制进度，但对器材的使用和技术的处理有较复杂的要求，因为有些室内实景（如卧房、办公室、车厢、船舱等）空间很小。拍摄所用摄影、照明器材都须具有小巧、轻便、高效、灵活等特点。
