法国国家图书馆 欧洲历史最悠久的国家图书馆。前身是建立于14世纪的皇家图书馆 。1720年向公众开放 。1789年法国大革命后改为国家图书馆。法国国家图书馆是世界上最早接受国内出版物呈缴本的图书馆 (始于1537年)。1992年底该馆藏书2000余万册( 件)，设有14 个阅览室。作为国家图书馆，承担着编制《法文出版物总目》、图书联合目录、 期刊联合目录 、印刷目录卡片等任务。 该馆是法国从事人文科学和社会科学研究的科研机构之一 。1987年使用加拿大GEAC系统建立的数据库向公众开放。
