佛经中的一个故事：泰钦法灯禅师幼时很聪明，但大家不了解他，只有法眼禅师对他很看重。一天，法眼问大家：“老虎颈项上的金铃，什么人能把他解下来?”大家回答不出。恰巧泰钦走来，法眼再问泰钦，泰钦回答说：“那个把铃系上去的人能够解下来。”由此，人们对泰钦刮目相看。事见惠洪《林间集》等书。后用“解铃还须系铃人”比喻谁惹出来的麻烦还得由谁去解决。
