A mass of characteristic data, application modes, computing programs and data analysis software has been accumulated in the long-term scientific research on resources and environments in cold and arid regions.

During the symposium,the participants pointed out that the future studies should be paid more attention to theoretical study and engineering mechanism study,and also on interaction between climate change and cold regions environment and their engineering effects.

Therefore,to measure the effect of the coal resource development on resource environment in mining area objectively and accurately,so that provide scientific basis for harness and compensation of resource environment,has become one of the key problems must be studied and solved.

The topographic condition greatly changes and climate is worst in frigid and arid region, thus vegetation restoration of railway slope is a more complicated project in these regions.
