场内经纪人取得期货交易所的会员资格、在交易所内为场外的期货交易参加者进行买卖期货合同的交易者。场内经纪人主要通过代替客户进行期货合同的买卖来赚取固定的佣金收入。在美国的期货交易所中场内经纪人除了为别人做期货交易，他还可以在一定条件下为自己做期货交易，从中赚取利润，但是按照期货交易所的规章制度，场内经纪人在与客户利益相冲突时，不得损害客户的利益。另外，他们必须公开地执行客户的指令，不能将其与自己的帐户进行交易。场内经纪人往往要受雇于一些期货佣金商，从那里接受客户的订单，并按订单的指令进行交易。也有一些经纪人只为一家公司做一种商品的期货交易，或自己独立接单。由于场内经纪人是具体期货交易的执行者，各国期货交易的法律都要求经纪人具备一定的期货交易的知识和技能，而且要通过权威机构的资格考试。
