数字微波通信 digital microwave communication 基于时分复用技术的一类多路数字通信体制。可以用来传输电话信号,也可以用来传输数据信号与图像信号。与数字微波通信相对应的是它的前身——模拟微波通信,它是基于频分复用技术的一类多路通信体制,主要用来传输模拟电话信号和模拟电视信号(见载波通信)。数字微波通信具有两大技术特征:①它所传送的信号是按照时隙位置分列复用而成的统一数字流,具有综合传输的性质。②它利用微波信道来传送信息,拥有很宽的通过频带,可以复用大量的数字电话信号,可以传送电视图像或高速数据等宽带信号。由于微波电磁信号按直线传播,数字微波(模拟微波也如此)通信可以按直视距离设站(站距约50千米),因此,建设起来比较容易。特别在丘陵山区或其他地理条件比较恶劣的地区,数字微波通信具有一定的优越性。在整个国家通信的传输体系中,数字微波通信也是重要的辅助通信手段。
