天津市药材公司、天津市中药研究所编。书中载植物根及根茎药材156种，按独根形、叉根形、须根形、类圆(连珠)形、疙瘩形、片(段、片)形、虫节形、异形等9类排列，每类药材均列有同类药材识别要点表。每种药材列有药名、四句歌诀提要、来源(科名及拉丁学名)、形状、颜色、气味、断面、功能、附注诸项。附图329幅，并附录有药材保管等内容。1978年由天津人民出版社出版。
