四氯化碳 carbon tetrachloride 分子式CCl4,无色液体。熔点-23℃,沸点76.8℃,密度1.5867克/厘米3(20℃),有令人愉快的气味,能起麻醉作用,有毒。四氯化碳具有正四面体结构,因此它是一种极性分子,微溶于水,可溶于乙醇、乙醚、氯仿等有机溶剂,它本身又是一种良好的溶剂,能溶解脂肪、油类、树脂、油漆以及无机物碘等。四氯化碳化学性质不活泼,不助燃,与酸、碱不起作用,但对某些金属(如铝、铁)有明显的腐蚀作用。以三氯化铁做催化剂,可用氯气与二硫化碳在加热下制取四氯化碳: 四氯化碳主要用作溶剂和灭火剂及麻醉剂,也用于生产氟利昂。
