射频辐射波长为3km～1m，频率为100kHz～300MHz，微波波长为1m～1mm，频率为300MHz～300GHz。其接触的作业：利用其热作用，可用于淬火，焊接，冶炼，半导体外延及区熔拉单晶，塑料粘合，干燥(木材，棉纱、低张、食品)，理疗，烹调。又由于传播直进性，广泛用于广播、电视、通讯、探测及导航等。对人体的影响：射频辐射及微波的非热作用，可引起神经衰弱综合征，脑电波节律改变，血压偏低、偏高或波动，心律减慢或加速，心电图STT改变，白细胞计数偏低，血小板计数偏低，尚可有脱发、脱屑和/或白发、白眉，微波还可引起白内障等发生。影响男性性功能，精子数减少活力不足；女性月经紊乱者增加，接触微波者可引起自然流产及乳汁分泌减少。我国对微波作业及超短波作业的卫生标准分别为，8小时接触连续波允许强度为0.05mW/cm2，脉冲波为0.025mW/cm2。
