| 银河 Milky Way 横跨星空的一条淡淡发光的带。中国古代又称天河、银汉、星河。银河在天鹰座与天赤道相交，在北半天球，它经过天鹅、蝎虎、仙王、仙后、英仙、御夫、金牛、双子和猎户等星座，跨入天赤道的麒麟座，再往南经过大犬、船尾、船帆、船底、南十字、半人马、圆规、矩尺、天蝎、人马和盾牌等星座，返回天鹰座。银河各部分的宽窄和明暗程度相差很大。银河在天球上勾画出一条宽窄不一的带，称为银道带。它的最宽处达30°，最窄处只有4°～5°，平均约20°。银河有些部分很明亮，如盾牌、人马那一段。有些部分则非常暗，如天鹰、天鹅座以南的大分叉和南十字座附近的“煤袋”。大分叉非常暗，银河在那里好像被分成了两条支流。已得知，银河实际上是银河系主体部分在天球上的投影。因此，当用望远镜观测时，可以看见银河由数量众多的恒星和星云组成。 |
