性质:又称艾肯模(Aitken mode)。颗粒物粒度分布模态之一。其粒度分布范围为0.005~0.05μm(粒子直径)之间。主要为气态物质转化而成的二次颗粒物,如光化学烟雾中的硫酸盐和硝酸盐粒子。在大气中这类粒子易转变成积聚模粒子,很不稳定;其中40%左右的粒子为带电荷的大离子,易相互碰撞而聚合或被其他表面吸着。核模和积聚模这两种模态的粒子,总称为细粒子,粒径小于2μm。
