材料信息源materlals information sourees从事材料研究、实验、生产和应用的科学技术工作者获取各种材料信息的渠道和来源。材料科学技术的迅猛发展是建立在及时和正确地获取信息的基础上的，对于材料信息源的了解和熟练使用是保证材料科学技术发展的一个重要环节。材料信息源的内容大体包括:世界材料科学与工程学术团体;世界材料科学与工程研究机构;材料科学与工程工具书;材料刊物;材料标准;材料专利;材料数据库。材料信息源是相当广泛而多种多样的，为了便于对材料信息源的了解和应用，为了能够快速检索所需要的信息，有人编辑出版了材料信息源指南。中国还没有任何形式的材料信息源指南，国外目前也还没有综合性的材料信息源指南，但已出现了有关专业的信息源指南。如英国的Bowker一Saur公司已出版的一套信息源指南，共n册，其中与材料有关的有:《金属材料信息源指南》(1990)和.《聚合物和塑料信息源》(1989)。 此外，还有其他出版机构编辑出版的材料信息源指南，例如:①《材料工程数据及信息指南》(G uldetoMaterialsE呢ineeri飞Data and Information)，由美国ASM学会编辑出版。②《金属信息源简明指南》(A Brief Guide to Sourees of Metals Ioformation，Information Resources Press，Washington D.C，1973)。③《材料技术信息源》(Sourees of TechnlealIoformation一Materials，Federation of MaterialsSoeieties，Washi翔红on D.C.，1975)。④《数据源关键述评:陶瓷性能》(Critieal Surveys of Data Sourees:Properties of Ceramies，NBS，Washington.D.C.，1975)。 (李成功陈石卿师昌绪)
