In view of the widespread application of blog in library,introducts the blog technology,discusses the changing of library service model at the blog platform,analyzes the advantages and limitations of the library blog,and gives a number of recommendations of the future development.

In order to investigate the current domestic research,topic distribution,core authors,core articles,research trends of library blog,this paper use CJFD as data source to make statistics analysis and citation analysis on research papers about library blog during 1999-2008.

Althought wer are still confronted with many stumbling blocks in the process of library blog practice,further probings down the alley will continue.

So the practice of public library blog could tell why the public libraries should blog,while the ironic reasons of "No Blogging"furtherly forecast the prosperity of public library blogs.

Compared with the retail-style report, this paper discusses both the advantages of the blogger-personal style with the on-spot report and the its limits in multi-perspective and progression report.
