昆虫纲半翅目（Hemiptera）蝽科(Pentatomidae)。又名荔枝椿象。果树害虫,主要为害荔枝和龙眼;也为害其他无患子科植物。成虫体长25毫米左右、体盾形、黄褐色，腹面被白色蜡粉，有臭腺，开口在胸部腹面中后胸交接处。卵圆球形,长2.5～2.7毫米,淡绿色，孵化前变为深灰色。若虫体色红黑相间。中国分布于福建、台湾、广东、广西、云南等省区；也见于南亚、东南亚国家。一年发生1代,以成虫在树上浓郁的叶丛或老叶背面越冬。翌年3、4月恢复活动，产卵于叶背。5、6月若虫盛发为害。若虫共5龄,历时约2个月,有假死习性，多数在7月间羽化为成虫,天寒后进入越冬期。若虫和成虫刺吸荔枝和龙眼的嫩梢、花穗和幼果的汁液，导致落花落果。如遇惊扰，常射出臭液自卫，沾及嫩梢、幼果局部会变焦褐色。
防治措施:于春季喷布敌百虫或氧化乐果等农药;在荔枝蝽卵期释放平腹小蜂等卵寄生蜂，并保护天敌；冬季低温期(10℃以下)振落捕杀成虫和在产卵期间采摘卵块。
