通过两性细胞结合,形成新个体的一种繁殖方式。在此过程中,一般包括有三个阶段:①是两个带细胞核的原生质体相互结合为同一个细胞的阶段,即所谓质配;②是由质配所带入同一细胞内的两性核的结合,即核配;③由于相互结合的两个性细胞,通过核配成为二倍体细胞,所以在核酸前后还有一个染色体减半,即减数分裂阶段,才能使后代个体的染色体数目与亲体一致。根据两性配子之间的差异程度,又将这种有性生殖分为三种类型:①同配生殖;②异配生殖;③卵式生殖。
