巢一,原名李庆通,河北平乡人。中共党员。1965年毕业于南开大学中文系汉语言文学专业。曾在部队工作9年,1980年后历任内蒙古人民出版社编辑、编辑室主任、副总编辑,编审。内蒙古延安精神研究会理事。1967年开始发表作品。1999年加入中国作家协会。著有作品集《巢一文学作品选》(上、下卷),另外发表中短篇小说《法正问法》、《史官良知》、《贤相之悔》,传记小说《深夜静悄悄》,诗歌《野营诗草》、《山溪出嫁》、《在春天的门槛上》,散文《名字的寄托》、《我与读书》、《盛夏兴安行》、《闲忆往事》、《初识作家张长弓》、《平生最忌一个“抢”字》,文艺随笔《小杜应试三华章》、《了望香港一角》,杂文《深夜静悄悄》等200余首(篇)。
