伊朗高原北部盐质荒漠,东西宽达450公里以上。有时单指其中最大的一部,即布祖尔格卡维尔而言。地势较周围为低,表层杂有粘土或粉泥,分布着不少盐壳。盐壳间多“沙特”(即泥沼洼地),人畜难以通行。
