| 后凉（386～403） 中国十六国之一。氐族吕光所建。都姑臧。盛时有今甘肃西部和宁夏、青海、新疆各一部。
前秦主苻坚统一北方后，于382年命吕光进军西域，西域30余国陆续归附。淝水之战后，前秦趋于瓦解。吕光于385年率兵载物东归，入据姑臧，自称凉州刺史。386年，光自称凉州牧、酒泉公，都姑臧，史称后凉。389年改称三河王，396年自称天王，国号大凉。399年光病死，太子吕绍继位，光庶长子吕纂旋杀绍自立。401年，光弟吕宝之子吕隆又杀纂自立。吕隆以南凉、北凉不断侵逼，内外交困，于403年七月请降于后秦主姚兴。后凉遂亡。后凉初建时，国势颇盛。但立国不久，境内各族便纷纷割据，建立政权。后凉与四周各族政权频繁交战，势力渐弱。吕光死后，诸子争立，互相杀夺，百姓饥馑流亡，死亡大半。至灭亡前夕，国境除姑臧而外，仅存昌松（今甘肃武威南）、番禾（今甘肃永昌）二郡之地。
