性质:口蹄疫是一种高度传染的疾病,使世界各地的大约三十种偶蹄类动物受到威胁,对牛、羊、猪的威胁尤甚。预防口蹄疫的疫苗,由在幼仓鼠的肾细胞中生长的病毒失活制取。由于病毒存在多种型及亚型,所以要求疫苗具多价性,或要求疫苗能适用于某一特定疫区或突然蔓延的特定疫情。当前口蹄疫苗存在的问题是疫苗缺乏稳定性,需要冷藏保存,而且存在着因使用活疫苗反而导致暴发性疾病蔓延的可能性。因此,用分子生物学技术生产更稳定、安全的疫苗是很有吸引力的。用胰蛋白酶处理病毒可分解出一种称为VPI的蛋白质,用作疫苗后,其传染性显著降低。大剂量VPI能使猪获得一定的免疫力。现在通过基因工程技术已获得工程疫苗。
