      优质高碳钢圆盘条经等温淬火并拔制而成。预应力钢丝(以下简称钢丝)的直径为2.5~5毫米,抗拉强度为1500~1900兆帕,为增加与混凝土的粘结作用,钢丝经辊压出规律性凹痕,即为刻痕钢丝。以1根钢丝为芯、6根钢丝围绕其周围绞合在一起,即为7股的钢绞线,是中国目前最常用的钢绞线品种。它们属于冷加工钢材,没有明显的屈服点,材料检验只能以抗拉强度为依据,设计强度取值以条件屈服点σ0.2的统计值来确定。
  
  钢丝、刻痕钢丝及钢绞线的强度几乎是热轧IV级钢筋的两倍(见热轧钢筋)。具有较好的柔韧性,使用时可根据要求的长度切断,是用于大荷载、大跨度及曲线配筋的预应力混凝土结构的理想钢材。为适应新的用途,英、美和日本等国还制成耐大气腐蚀和耐盐碱作用的镀锌钢丝、低松弛钢丝(普通松弛级钢丝在0.7σb的应力作用下1000小时,松弛率一般为7~8%,低松弛级纲丝为2.5~3%)、面接触钢绞线等。
  
  钢丝、刻痕钢丝及钢绞线,广泛应用于预应力混凝土桥梁、铁路轨枕、压力水管、混凝土电杆以及房屋工程的大跨度屋架、吊车梁及特种结构(如体育馆的悬索结构)中的屋面结构等方面。
