福建福清人。中共党员。1966年毕业于福建师范大学中文系。历任罗源县教育、宣传、文化部门干部，福建省出版部门干部，《中外电视》杂志编辑部负责人，《华人之声》杂志主编，《海峡》文学主编，海峡文艺出版社社长、总编辑，福建省作家协会主席团委员、当代文学研究会副会长。1963年开始发表作品。1984年加入中国作家协会。著有电影文学剧本《皆大欢喜》(已拍摄发行)、《故土》、《父与子》、《特区金三角的警报》，小说、报告文学集《特区金三角警报》等。
