狼蛛，是蜘蛛的一种，平时过着游猎生活，一到繁殖季节，雄狼蛛总是百般讨好雌蛛，大献殷勤。狼蛛求偶时，先纺织一个小的精网，把精液撒在上面，然后举着构造特殊的脚须捞取精液，含情脉脉地靠近雌蛛。在靠近雌蛛前，雄蛛在远处不断地挥舞脚须，若雌蛛伏着不动，雄蛛才得以靠近雌蛛进行交配，雄蛛用脚须把精液送进雌蛛的受精囊中。一旦交配完成，它就会被凶残的雌蛛吃掉，成了短命的“新郎”。
虽然雌狼蛛嗜杀成性，但抚养子女却体贴入微。它产卵前先用蛛丝铺设产褥，将卵产上后又用蛛丝覆盖，做成一个外包“厚丝缎”，内铺“软丝被”的卵囊，以防风避雨。为了防止意外，狼蛛干脆把卵囊带在腹部下面，用长长的步足夹着它随身带走。
小狼蛛出世后，雌蛛更是爱护备至。幼儿纷纷爬上母亲的背部或腹壁，由母亲背着到处巡游、狩猎。这样，要持续到幼蛛第二次蜕皮后，雌蛛才肯放心地让它们离开自己，各自谋生。
狼蛛属节肢动物门、蛛形纲动物，能捕杀害虫，是有益动物。
