据我国权威气象部门发布的消息,去年冬季,是1998~1999年以来我国第二个温度较高的冬季,也是多年暖冬中较暖的季节。同时,又根据我们大面积多点调查显示,今年的油菜开花和小麦拔节要比常年提早10~15天。正是由于气温回暖快,好些棉区的农民询问,今年的棉花是否可以提早播种?而且有的农民已经整好了棉花育苗的苗床,也整好了大田棉花的预留棉行,有的打算现在就播种育苗。 倒底能不能将棉花的播种期提早呢?根据多年棉花播种的实践,这方面的教训是十分深刻的。的确,采用塑料薄膜覆盖实行营养钵育苗,也可以在3月中下旬播种于4月上旬培育出棉苗,生产上也曾大面积作过示范,但其结果是管理难度很大,也难以确保全苗壮苗。一是4月上中旬寒潮频繁,气温变幅很大,北风光顾的次数多,苗床薄膜的揭盖很不好把握;二是若遇上连续阴雨天气,苗床上的棉苗难以通风透气,极易形成线苗,导致棉苗倒伏;三是低温阴雨也易诱发立枯、炭疽、猝倒等病害,致使苗床成片死苗;四是早播种,使棉苗苗龄延长,迫使棉苗过早地移栽到大田,早栽的棉苗碰上寒潮,常因死苗造成缺苗断垄,一般缺苗10% ~20%,严重的缺苗30%~50%。近几年,棉花生产上推出的新品种很多,特别是杂交抗虫棉,价格较贵。若是缺苗面积过大,既要造成经济损失,也使棉花难以做到一次播种、一次移栽、一次全苗,计划中的棉田面积常会落空,更难以确保种优良棉种夺取高产丰收。 面对暖冬气候的出现,在优良棉种的播种期上,应当作出怎样的抉择呢?据多年的经验,为了使优良棉种不受或少受损失,在营养钵育苗移栽技术上,应该着重把握以下环节。 了解棉花出苗对温度的要求据研究,棉种萌芽最低的极限温度为10.5℃,出苗的温度在12℃以上,播种出苗的活动积温为80℃~100℃,满足了温度的要求就可正常出苗。 了解当地的气候规律以长江中游为例,3月下旬的平均气温在9℃以上,4月上旬平均气温在13℃以上,4月中旬的平均气温在16℃以上,因此,4月上旬可以试播,中旬可集中时间、集中劳力突击大播,这个时期播种是比较可靠的。 做到壮苗安全适期移栽一般而言,4月下旬末至5月上旬移栽棉花钵苗,或者是棉苗有3片真叶移栽比较安全,因为这时幼茎开始木质化,抗逆能力增强。从固有的经验来说,叫做“时到不等苗,苗到不等时”。
