描述LasiocaryumJohnston毛果草属，紫草科，约7种，分布于喜马拉雅及帕米尔高原一带，我国有毛果草L.densiflorum（Duthie）Johnston等3种，分布于西藏、云南西北部和四川西部。小草本；叶互生；花组成蝎尾状聚伞花序，无或有苞片；萼5裂；花冠近辐状，有5附属物；雄蕊内藏；小坚果卵形，常有毛，腹面与锥状花托愈合。
