昆虫纲鳞翅目(Lepidoptera)瘤蛾科(Nolidae)。又名枇杷黄毛虫。枇杷害虫。成虫体长约9毫米,翅展21～26毫米，灰白色有银光。前翅有3条黑色波折横纹,并有由隆起的褐色鳞片组成的瘤突。卵扁椭圆形,淡黄色,表面有纵走刻纹。幼虫体长约23毫米，黄色，体表生有许多毛瘤,腹足4对。蛹褐色。分布于中国长江流域和南方各省,也见于印度。中国南方一年发生3～5代,以蛹在茧内越冬。翌年4、5月羽化成蛾，卵散产于枇杷嫩叶背面。初龄幼虫群集于嫩叶正面取食叶肉，呈现许多褐色斑点。 2龄后分散活动，食量渐增。幼虫食害新梢嫩叶,自春至秋均有为害。被害叶仅余上表皮和叶脉。嫩叶被食尽后转害老叶、嫩茎表皮和花果。严重时全株嫩叶可被食殆尽，植株枯死。老熟幼虫在叶背主脉上或枝干荫蔽处结茧化蛹。防治时可在枇杷树每次新梢抽出后的幼虫初发阶段，喷撒鱼藤精、敌百虫或其他农药。初龄幼虫群集新梢叶面取食时，可人工捕杀。天敌有姬蜂、茧蜂、广大腿小蜂、金小蜂和寄生菌等。冬季从树干上扫集虫茧置于寄生蜂保护器中，可保护天敌，控制虫害。
