苏联科学卫星系列。1964年1～7月共发射 4颗卫星，重400～544公斤。一次同时把两颗"电子"号卫星送入不同轨道，以期在不同高度和不同空间范围内同时完成对地球辐射带等的环境测量。它们的主要任务是研究进入地球内、外辐射带的粒子和与其相关的各种空间物理现象。编号为奇数的"电子"号卫星进入近地点约 400公里，远地点约7000公里的椭圆轨道，穿过内辐射带区域；而偶数号的卫星则被置入一条近地点约460公里,远地点约 68000公里的大椭圆轨道，穿过内、外辐射带。"电子"号卫星带有：高、低灵敏度的磁强计、低能粒子分析器、低能质子检测器、太阳X射线计数器、微流星探测器以及记录微粒辐射和研究宇宙辐射成分的仪器。各种探测仪器可由程序装置控制工作，也可由地面指令工作。"电子"号卫星获得了地球辐射带、磁场、带电粒子的特性、空间分布和能谱的大量数据。
