    虾衣花,别名虾夷花、虾衣草等,属爵床科、麒麟吐珠属。穗状花序顶生,黄色苞片,重叠成串,似龙虾、狐尾,且常年开花,适宜盆栽,也可作花坛布置。虾衣花喜温暖、湿润环境,最低温度5℃至10℃,喜光忌暴晒,有一定的耐阴能力。
    扦插繁殖,用长2个至3个节间的穗条作插穗。老枝或嫩枝扦插均可,在同等温度条件下,嫩枝生根较快。室温20℃下,10天左右生根,一年四季均可扦插,但以春夏季节为主。黄沙、蛭石或珍珠岩均可作为扦插基质,嫩枝扦插要对基质严格消毒。插穗生根后,及时移栽上盆并适当遮阴,待新叶长出后,移向阳光充足的地方,要经常保持土壤湿润,生长期每半月追施一次肥,花蕾初现时以磷、钾肥为主,并每周叶面追喷磷酸二氢钾一次。虾衣花生长期应随时摘心、修剪,促使多分枝,并辅以多效唑或矮壮素等药剂,防止徒长,控制节间高度,以促使株型紧凑饱满。花期需要光照充足,否则花色暗淡。花凋谢后应少浇水,使之安全越冬,同时剪除老枝,以促使其继续萌发新枝再开花。虾衣花对土壤要求微酸性。腐质土、园土比例约为3:2,盆栽时基质中加入过磷酸钙或复合肥,以增加肥度。
    虾衣花抗性强,其病虫害少。温室栽培中应注意防治介壳虫、红蜘蛛危害。(来源:中国花卉报2003-09-20)
