北盘江发源于云南与贵州交界的库拉河和可渡河,流经六盘水市水城县、六枝特区,全长有100多公里。其中境内发耳、法都两段近40公里流域最为险峻。两岸崖壁高耸,奇峰不断,水流随着山形忽而向东,忽而向南流去,有时呈“s ”形转弯,甚为奇险。这两段河流上仍保留数座清末修造的铁索桥,两岸生存有一级保护动物——黑叶猴。是一处不可多得的峡谷观光景点。
