七盘沟风景区位于汶川县城西南7公里，距成都139公里。
七盘沟主沟长15公里，大小支沟8条，主要地貌属高山峡谷。由于海拔高度相差大而导致的气候多样性和垂直变化性，使景区河谷低处常年温和、晴天居多，夏季气候25摄氏度左右，是理想的避暑胜地。半山以上云雾缭绕、雨量充沛，常显现云海、日出等天象美景；景高峰则冬雪早至，银妆素裹，有一沟四季景色共存的佳境。
