   亚洲中南半岛越南少数民族。自称莫尔,意为人,不同地区还有不同名称。主要分布在河山平、清化、永富、黄连山、山萝、河南宁等省,其中以河山平省最为集中。属蒙古人种南亚类型。信仰多神。崇拜图腾。使用芒语,系属未定,和越语在语音、词汇和语法上十分相近。一般认为芒人和越人同一族源,都是骆越人的后裔,约自10世纪起开始分化成两个民族。芒人主要从事农业,以生产糯稻为主,并种植棉花、竹子、桐油树、茶油树;普遍养牛、养蜂,织布、染布。妇女是主要劳动力。过去盛行酋长制度,后被废除。
