包括患者周围血和双侧肾静脉血(经皮穿刺股静脉，将导管插到两侧肾静脉取血标本)测定。肾素活性测定对肾血管性高血压的诊断、治疗以及预后的估价均有重要意义。当患侧肾血管病变时，该侧肾素活性高于正常值，且较健侧肾静脉高1.5倍。
