【肌醇】(inositol)化学式`C_6H_12O_6`,分子量180.16。广泛存在于动植物组织中,是动物与微生物的生长因素。有九种异构体,自然界中主要以顺式-1,2,3,5-反式-4,6-环己六醇形式存在。无水物为白色不吸湿结晶,有甜味。熔点225-227℃。无光学活性。易溶于水,微溶于乙醇,几乎不溶于乙醚及其他一般有机溶剂。水溶液对石蕊试纸呈中性。对热、强酸、强碱稳定。有二个结晶水的肌醇为易失水结晶,熔点218℃。于100℃可成为无水物
