The vertical variations of soil compositions, properties, types according to genetic classification and taxonomic classification, and the north boundary of subtropical zone on the southern slope of Funiu Mountain were discussed in this paper based on soil survey in field and soil physical and chemical analysis in laboratory.

The climate of the Funiushan mountain area in Henan Province belongs to the transitional zone between the warm Temperate Zone and the Northern Subtropics.

Five species of three genera of the selenocephaline leafhoppers are reported from Funiushan Mountain in Henan Province in the present paper, of which the genus Fistulatus and the following three species, Fistulatus sinensis, Drabescus henanensis and Drabescus minipenis are new to science.
