形态特征:羽藓科羽藓属的代表种。体形一般稍大，绿色或黄绿色,老时呈褐绿色，常疏松交织成片。茎匍匐，上部略倾立，2-3回羽状分枝;鳞毛由单列或成片状细胞组成。茎叶与枝叶异形。茎叶卵形或卵状心形，多具细长尖，具纵褶，叶边多背卷;中肋不及叶尖，稀突出于叶尖;叶细胞六角形或圆六角形，中央具单个尖疣。枝叶和小枝叶卵形或长卵形，内凹，中肋短弱。雌苞叶卵披针形，边缘具长纤毛。蒴柄纤细，平滑。孢蒴卵状圆柱形，略呈弓形弯曲，老时褐色。
生境分布:多见于低海拔至中山地区的林地、草丛下和树茎、腐木或溪边具土石上。分布于我国南北各省区。东南亚和日本亦有分布。
用途:可入药，具清热清毒之效。
