描述AnthuriumSchott花烛属，天南星科，约550种，产热带美洲，现各热带地区常有栽培，我国引入有花烛A.andraeanumLind.等3种，见于福建、广东和云南，供观赏。草本或攀援植物；叶形各式，全缘或各式分裂，具明显叶柄；花序柄大都伸长；佛焰苞扁平，常具美丽的颜色，宿存；肉穗花序圆柱形、圆锥形或尾状；花两性；花被片4；雄蕊4，花丝扁；子房2室，每室具倒生或弯生胚珠2或1；果为一浆果。
