1983年4月30日，年仅20岁的李艺花，在美国休斯顿举行的第三届世界杯跳水赛女子跳板跳水赛中，技压群芳，勇夺冠军，这是继上海选手史美琴于1981年第二届世界杯跳水比赛中夺得这项冠军的第二个中国人。
李艺花，河北省保定人，曾在1981年7月第十一届世界大学生运动会上，获跳板跳水冠军和跳台跳水亚军，1982年11月在印度新德里第九届亚运会上再获此项目冠军。
