Differences in the number of rhizome producing new shoots, the survival rate of new shoots,the basal diameter of new shoots and branch of 1-year-old bamboo between the presence and the absence of mother ramet in Neosinocalamus affinis were compared in order to explore the contribution of mother ramet to clonal propagation and branching of 1-year-old bamboo.
