翠云宫在华山西峰，又称西峰大殿。始建于清初，但形制较小。后庙内主持周静观在此释经布道，由于他的博学与才华，吸引得四方信徒纷至沓来，庙内香火大盛，甚至于超过了诸峰各庙观，宫也由此而扩建重修。特别是藏经楼里所蓄的道教真经是华山道教研究的宝贵财富，遗憾的是民国二十一年（ 1932 ）全部建筑与所有经卷全毁于火患。民国二十二年重修，解放后又经多次修葺方成今制。
重修的翠云宫为木石结构，依崖就势而筑。外廊明柱，雕梁画栋，镂花门窗，其风格秀丽典雅。宫分前后两殿，上下两层，东西各建有配殿，将前后两殿沟通连为一体。后殿门额悬有翠云宫牌匾，殿内供奉众星之母斗姥神位，塑像神态威严端庄。
