| 支提 chaitya 印度佛教建筑的一种形式。支提是梵文chaitya的音译，意为在圣者逝世或火葬之地建造的庙宇或祭坛，一般指礼拜场所。作为印度佛教建筑的支提，指的是安置纪念性窣堵波的塔庙、祠堂、佛殿。其形制平面为 U字形，前殿为长方形，两侧各立一排纵惯的列柱，以隔出中殿和侧廊，后殿为半圆形，殿中央置一小型窣堵波，殿顶为仿木结构的圆筒形肋拱，正面有拱窗。支提的建筑形式，随佛教的东渐而传入中国，并与中国本土的石窟寺相融合而中国化了，如敦煌的支提窟不同于印度。 |
