是同时禁止非核国拥有核武器,核国向非核国转让核武器的国际法律条约.

目的: 禁止核扩散
主要内容:
1. 核国家保证不直接或间接地把核武器转让给非核国家,不援助非核国家制造核武器；
2. 非核国家保证不制造核武器，不直接或间接地接受其他国家的核武器转让，不寻求或接受制造核武器的援助，也不向别国提供这种援助；
3. 停止核军备竞赛，推动核裁军；
4. 把和平核设施置于国际原子能机构的国际保障之下，并在和平使用核能方面提供技术合作.
过程:
1. 1958年爱尔兰向联合国大会提出关于核武器扩散危险性的议案
2. 1966年, 联合国决议让18国裁军委员会(endc)制定'不扩散核武器条约'草案.
3. 1968年美苏提出联合修正案.
4. 1968年6月12日, 联大核准该条约草案.
5. 1970年3月5日, 正式生效.
成员国: 187个(2000年9月止)
中国于1991年12月29日决定加入该公约, 1992年3月9日递交加入书, 同时对中国生效.
主要非成员国: 以色列, 印度, 巴基斯坦, 古巴, 朝鲜等 (1985年12月12日加入, 1993年3月突然宣布退出, 1993年6月美国等国家的劝说下保留退出, 2003年1月退出)
条约有效期: 25年, 每5年举行一次审议会议, 审议条约的执行情况.
