画眉 Garrulax canorus;hwa-mei 鸟纲雀形目鹟科噪鹛属的一种。因眼圈白色,向后延伸成眉状而得名。分布于中国南部和越南及老挝的北部。体形似鸫,体长20~25厘米;通体棕褐色;腹部中央灰色。雌雄外形相似。栖息在山丘的灌丛和村落附近的灌丛、草丛中,在城郊的灌丛、竹林间也可见到。喜单独活动,有时也结小群;性机敏而胆怯。雄鸟好斗,常追逐他种鸟类。受惊时,急速窜逃。飞翔能力不强,常在灌丛中边飞边跳,不作远距离飞行。主要取食昆虫,有时也吃野果、植物种子。鸣声婉转,并善于模仿其他鸟类鸣叫。是驰名中外的珍贵笼鸟。在作物生长时期,能摄食大量害虫,对农林有益。
