| 神农蜣螂 Catharsius molossus 金龟科昆虫的一种。俗名屎蛒螂。中药名蜣螂虫。广布于中国 。体长23.7～40毫米，宽16.8～23毫米。大型甲虫，体短阔，椭圆形，背面十分圆隆，体黑或黑褐。常见粪食性甲虫，药用昆虫。《神农本草经》 中即有蜣螂入药的记载。入药者为其雄体，含有1％蜣螂素。药性味咸寒，有镇惊、破瘀止痛、攻毒及通便等功能，主治癫痫狂、小儿惊风、二便不通、痢疾等。外用治痔疮、疔疮肿毒等。
