卡松CG又称卡松、CY-1，主要活性成分为两种异噻唑啉酮类化合物，化学名称分别为5-氯-2-甲基-4-异噻唑啉-3-酮和2-甲基-4-异噻唑啉-3-酮，分子量分别为150和115，其他组分有镁盐、水。是一种广谱、高效抑菌剂，水活性液体防腐剂对各种细菌、霉菌、酵母、藻类都有很强的抑制和杀菌作用。pH适用范围1～9。pH值增大．在混合物中将降低稳定性。铵、亚硫酸盐和强还原剂可降低活性，但不受阳离子、阴离子表面活性别的影响。在使用浓度下无毒，对皮肤无刺激性，无过敏性，LD50 3350mg／kg。
可溶于大多数有机溶剂，能有效抑止细菌、霉菌、酵母菌等，具有较高的防腐杀菌功能，在化妆品、乳胶漆、造纸等应用。
