中国人民解放军云南边防部队某部第1营,收复、坚守扣林山的英雄集体。1981年5月7日凌晨，该营对入侵云南省麻栗坡县扣林山的越南军队进行反击。第 3连迅速穿插合围,粉碎越军4次突围。曾获"钢刀连"荣誉称号的第1连担任主攻,连克3个高地，第2连在雷区开辟了通路， 第1排首先攻占越军主阵地──1705.2高地主峰，各连打搜结合,全歼守军，收复了扣林山。6月11日，越军约1个连的兵力在炮火掩护下,向3连第7班守卫的30号高地反扑,7班9名战士在战友们的支援下，浴血奋战6个小时,打退越军4次反扑。该营在66昼夜的战斗中，共打退越军13次反扑，击毙200多人，守住了阵地。全营4个连都立集体功，第3连荣获"穿插英雄连"称号,1连第2排、2连第1排荣获"英雄排"称号，3连第7班荣获"九勇士英雄班"称号。1981年9月21日,中国共产党中央军事委员会授予该营"扣林山战斗英雄营"称号。
