【异名】
草结、羊胲子(《内蒙古中草药》)，西格格(蒙名)。
【来源】
为牛或羊胃内的草结块。
【药材】
呈圆球形，略带椭圆形，或为不规则的扁圆形，径约4～6厘米。表面光滑，暗褐色、黄绿色或土灰色。质轻而坚。内呈纤维状毛绒草结。
【炮制】
焙焦存性，研末。
【性味】
《内蒙古中草药》："淡，微温。"
【功用主治】
①《内蒙古中草药》："镇静，降逆止呕。治噎膈反胃，晕车，晕船呕吐。" ②治吐酸，胃溃疡，止心胃痛。(广东)
【用法与用量】
内服：研末，1～2钱，温开水冲服。
【选方】
①治反胃呕吐：牛羊草结一斤，枣肉半斤，平胃散(陈皮、厚朴、苍术、甘草)五两。共研面。空腹，每服一钱，温开水送服。(《内蒙古中草药》) ②治晕车、晕船呕吐：牛羊草结为末，每次冲服一钱。(《内蒙古中草药》)
