According to the meteorological observation in Minqin Desert Control Experiment Station,variations of frost-free period,low temperature in spring and frozen earth were analyzed.

Through comparison between several kinds of thermal indexes and analysis of China s climate characteristics,frost-free period is considered to be a proper thermal index of climatic zoning for grapevine in China.

Based on the average annual temperature,annual precipitation and no frost period data from Shihezi Meteorological Bureau during the period of 1967-2006,the climate trend was analyzed using linear fitting method,3-year smoothing average and M-K methods.
