福建水师“扬武”号巡洋舰
“扬武”号为福建水师旗舰：
舰型：二等铁木壳轻巡洋舰，“扬武”舰为木质船身无装甲。
排水量：标准排水量1393吨，满载排水量1560吨。
动力装置：蒸汽动力，法国进口主机， 1130匹马力；扬武舰很特殊的装有三节可伸缩式烟囱，可以躲避敌人的炮弹射击。
主尺度：舰长190尺 ，舰宽36尺 ，舱深21尺，吃水17.9尺。
航速： 顺风航速约15节。
武器装备：配有6门威斯窝斯式三吨重舷侧前膛炮，2门威斯窝斯式三吨半重前膛炮（舰艏、舰艉各一门），1门八吨重旋转炮装在前舱后。
编制：147人。
建造厂和时间：福州船政局所建造之第七号舰，1872年4月23日下水，12月完工 成军，造价25万4千两。本舰是福州船政局早年所建军舰最耗工费料成本最高的一艘，也是中国第一艘巡洋舰。
造价： 25万4千两。
1884年中法闽江口海战时本舰担任福建舰队之旗舰,法军攻击时曾首先发尾炮还击,第一发即命中法军旗舰"la volta"号舰挢并击毙五人. 很少人知道,中国最着名的铁路工程师詹天佑当年即在"扬武"舰上担任炮手.(詹早年为容闳所办的留美幼童生,福州船政学堂八期毕业,曾自美国耶鲁大学修得土木工程学士;当时留美幼童生有七人叁加了中法马江之役,其中薛有福等四人阵亡. )
马江之役中该舰被法军 "46号"雷艇发射鱼雷击中右舷，驶至岸边搁浅并焚毁，管带游击张成乘小艇弃舰逃逸，战後被清廷问斩。
