【性味】
甘，温。 ①《广西中药志》："味甘，性温，无毒。" ②《泉州本草》："味苦微辛，性涩而平。"
【归经】
入肺、胃、肾三经。 ①《广西中药志》："入肺、胃二经。" ②《泉州本草》："入肝、肾、心、肺诸经。"
【功用主治】
理气，化痰，益肾。治心胃气痛，痰饮咳嗽，肾虚遗精。 ①《广西中药志》："行气止痛，逐痰化饮。治心胃气痛，痰饮咳嗽。" ②《泉州本草》："益肾滋肝。治肾虚遗精。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱，或研末。
【宜忌】
《广西中药志》："肺热咳嗽者忌用。"
【选方】
①治咳嗽，气痛：猫尾射根三至五钱，瘦猪肉一至二两。同煲服。(《广西中药志》) ②治胃痛不吐酸：虎尾轮根一至二两(干的酌减，洗净，切碎)，鸡一只(去肠杂)。水、酒各半炖服，可续服，时间不拘。(《闽南民间草药》) ③治肾虚遗精：猫尾射根晒干研末，每次二至三钱，开水送服。(《泉州本草》) ④治小儿惊痫：虎尾轮根三至八钱。水煎服。(《闽南民间草药》)
