中国有26种。其中黍鹀是鹀属最大的种,体长约185毫米，鸣声响亮，仅见于新疆西部。黄胸鹀、蓝鹀为中国特有种，见于甘肃南部、陕西南部、四川万源和峨眉山，冬季见于贵州北部、湖北西部、安徽黄山、福建西北部和广东北部。藏鹀也是中国特有种，仅见于青海南部杂多、曲麻莱地区以及西藏昌都地区北部。
