中国动物地理区系
中国陆地动物区划分属于世界动物地理分区的古北界与东洋界。两界在我国境内的分界线西起横断山脉北部，经过川北的岷山与陕南的秦岭，向东至淮河南岸，直抵长江口以北。我国动物区系根据陆栖脊椎动物特别是哺乳类和鸟类的分布情况，下分七个区：东北区、华北区、蒙新区、青藏区、西南区、华中区、华南区。其中前4个区属于古北界；后3个区属于东洋界。
中国海洋动物可分为黄渤海区、东海区和南海区，它们分属于世界海洋动物区系的北温带海动物区和热带海动物区。
